Grading

A grade is issued only when you've completed the required course work, including all assignments, exams, and projects. If you withdraw or are dropped from a course or fail to complete all of its requirements, you receive no grade, not even an incomplete or an F. If you fail a course, you must reregister for the course and pass it to receive credit. If you repeat a course and receive a passing grade, the original F remains on the transcript along with the passing grade. Your final course grade is released only after all outstanding accounts are paid.

Generally, courses are graded using one of the following scales:

Grading Scale 1   Grading Scale 2

A        Excellent
A-
B+
B        Good

C+
C        Fair
C-
D+
D        Poor
D-/F    Fail

Pass/Fail Option- If you prefer to take a course on a pass/fail basisyou must request to do so before submitting your first assignment. For courses taken on a pass-fail basis, a grade of C- or better is passing, and a grading of D+ or lower is failing.
