Time Requirements

Independent Learning Deadlines - You have up to 12 months from the date of registration to complete the course work, including the examinations. If you cannot complete the course work within this time period, you must write or call Student Services to request a 3-month extension. Please include the $100 extension fee for each course you wish to extend. To prevent an interruption in lesson processing, this should be done at least one month before the expiration date. If necessary, you may apply for a second 3-month extension by writing or calling with another request. There is an additional $200 fee for a second extension.

The maximum time allowed to complete a course may not exceed 18 months from the initial registration date. Extension fees are nonrefundable.

Personal Deadlines - Our courses are designed for completion within three months to one year. If you must complete a course in less than three months from your registration date, we recommend that you inform the Student Services office prior to registering for a course. We will help you to determine if it is feasible to meet your deadline.

To meet your graduation deadline, be sure all assignments and examinations are completed and received in the Student Services office at least three weeks before the date by which your grade needs to be reported. However, do not submit a large number of assignments at one time close to the deadline, since this does not allow enough time for grading and response from your instructor.
