Tuition Waivers

If you are registered full-time at a UW institution, you may qualify to have your Independent Learning tuition waived or discounted. Tuition waivers only apply to university credit courses, which begin with "U" (e.g., U600-112).

A tuition waiver may be obtained from your home institution, usually from your dean, registrar, advisor, or financial aid office, and must accompany your completed registration.

If you receive a tuition waiver, you are responsible for the Independent Learning administrative fee and other applicable processing charges. You also are responsible for any credits (under or over) the tuition plateau not waived by your institution. If you drop credits on your home campus, you may no longer be eligible for a fee waiver. Check with your home institution prior to dropping credits.
