Business Certificate Program

Four nationally accredited (AACSB International) University of Wisconsin System business programs (UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Parkside) jointly offer MBA foundation coursework via the Internet to admitted and prospective MBA students.

This unique program of online business foundation courses is now available as a certificate program for nontraditional students who need the skills and knowledge of business functions. To fulfill the requirements of the Certificate Program, a student completes 13 graduate credits.

Required Courses:

ACCT 800 Financial Accounting (2 cr)
ACCT 801 Managerial Accounting (1 cr)
MRK 800 Marketing Analysis Foundation (2 cr)
ORG 800 Foundations of Organizational Behavior (2 cr)

Elective Courses (6 credits from the following are required):

ECON 800 Foundations of Microeconomics (1 cr)
ECON 801 Foundations of Macroeconomics (1 cr)
FIN 800 Fundamentals of Managerial Finance (2 cr; prerequisite: ACCT 800)
MIS 800 Management Information Systems in Business (2 cr)
POM 800 Production and Operations Management (2 cr; prerequisite: STAT 800)
STAT 800 Statistics Foundation (2 cr)

Minimum requirements to be accepted:

  1. A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
  2. Easy access to the Internet and the ability to play streaming audio and video. For a general description of the technology requirements, view the Hardware/Software requirements.

Upon completion of the 13 credits, you will receive a frameable certificate. Receipt of the certificate will also be recorded on an official transcript at UW-Eau Claire or UW-Oshkosh.
